Growing up in the Netherlands, which is a massive hub for the dropshipping industry, I was surrounded by the hype of making money online. Like many people my age, I took the courses, watched the videos, and learned exactly how to build online stores from my laptop.

I learned the formulas that work. I learned how to create fake brand names that sound like charming local boutiques. I learned how to use psychology to make a website look incredibly trustworthy. And I learned how to set up countdown timers and 'limited stock' warnings to make people buy quickly without thinking twice.

For a while, I was fully immersed in it. But as the orders came in, so did the customer service emails.

I started reading messages from people who were the same age as my parents and grandparents. They were honest people who had bought a nice sweater for themselves or a gift for their grandchild. They were writing to say the package had arrived weeks late, the quality was terrible, and they were confused about why they couldn't get a refund because of some hidden 'final sale' policy.

It hit me hard. The older generation grew up in a time when shopping was based on mutual trust and honesty. My generation was using software and psychology to exploit that exact trust. I realized I was using my skills to trick people who simply didn't grow up with this technology.

I couldn't do it anymore. I walked away from building those stores, but I knew the industry was only getting bigger and smarter, especially with the rise of AI.

I couldn't just sit back and watch it happen. That is why I started Online Buyer Protection and wrote this guide. I decided to take every single trick, secret, and psychological tactic I learned in the dropshipping world, and hand it over to you.
